Commerce Approved Continuing Education

Starting in 2008, the State of Wisconsin will require individual contractor certification (Dwelling Contractor Qualifier Credential) in addition to the business credential (Dwelling Contractor Financial Responsibility Credential) your business has held for years - Renewable every two years with 12 hours of continuing education. Over the past several years, the MBA has greatly expanded our educational offerings through seminars and educational events to provide a variety of opportunities for our industry in the areas of business practices, construction, development, and sales & marketing. While not all of these course categories will be approved for compliance with the new requirements, they will address a growing desire by many in the industry to become a better resource for their potential customers and more knowledgeable about new advances in products, building practices, and regulatory changes.

MBA’s Certified Construction Professional (CCP) Designation

In a competitive business environment, separating yourself from the competition is one of the keys to helping your business grow. The MBA’s Certified Construction Professional (CCP) Designation will allow those individuals who are serious about staying ahead of the competition an opportunity to shine. The CCP Designation will give MBA members an additional edge in the marketplace above and beyond the requirement of the State of Wisconsin hourly requirements. The program is customized to a member’s business affiliation with different tracks for general industry areas. Click here to view the program.

In today’s competitive business climate, it is critical for developers, builders, remodelors, and those affiliated with the construction industry to be able to separate themselves from the competition. Educated professionals are more likely to educate their customers on the latest technologies available in the home building industry. Professionals who are constantly learning and challenging themselves are not afraid to share new techniques and applications with their customers. The MBA offers professional educational opportunities on a weekly basis throughout the year to enable their members to continue to learn.

Builder and Interim Builder Member Requirements must be fulfilled as a condition of their membership in the Metropolitan Builders Association.
